Ohio Industrial Commission Claims Examiner Supervisor Named February 2026 Employee of the Month

COLUMBUS, OH - The Ohio Industrial Commission congratulates Doug Lang, Claims Examiner Supervisor in the Lima District Office, on being named Employee of the Month for February 2026.

Lang was nominated by one of his coworkers and chosen for the award by the agency's Employee of the Month Committee.

“Doug and I came to the Ohio Industrial Commission at the same time. Since I started working with him, I have noticed that he has been a great employee for the IC,” Doug's nominator wrote. “As a Claims Examiner 2, he was always a hardworking, accurate, and diligent employee. He was always available if any of his fellow examiners had questions and needed help.”

“When Doug was promoted to Claims Examiner Supervisor for the Lima IC office, his work ethic continued and grew. He was quick to learn his new duties and is always there for the employees he supervises, and IC external customers. When asked, he helps us work through any problem that develops until it is solved. He is willing to look at multiple sources to ensure that the answer he provides is correct and the best solution to the problem,” Doug's Employee of the Month nominator continued.

“He is a natural leader and makes sure we stay productive and informed of any changes that affect our work positions so we can do the best job we are capable of doing,” Lang's nominator added. “He is not just available during office hours, but also after work hours if something comes up unexpectedly.”

“The moving of our office from Fourth Street to the current one in downtown Lima has been very stressful for Doug, as he worked diligently to ensure that the move was successful… He has shown that he truly was the best candidate to have been hired for the Lima IC Claims Supervisor position, and I am proud to nominate him for Employee of the Month,” Lang's nominator concluded.

Lang started at the IC in January 2013. This is his first time being named as the solo Ohio Industrial Commission Employee of the Month. He was part of a winning group nomination several years prior. His supervisor is Sheryl Schleupner, Program Administrator 3 in the Toledo Regional Office.
