Ohio Industrial Commission Cincinnati Regional Office Customer Service Assistant Named December 2024 Employee of the Month

COLUMBUS, OH - The Ohio Industrial Commission congratulates Kimico Atkins, Customer Service Assistant 1 in the Cincinnati Regional Office, on being named as the December 2024 Employee of the Month.

Atkins's nominator wrote: “Kimico is always a ray of sunshine--she is highly professional and helpful with claimants and representatives, and she always has a smile on her face.”

“She has developed and established practices to allow for more streamlined and proficient operations, i.e. emailing the hearing officers of the Cincinnati office to confirm the attendance of an interpreter prior to hearing; emailing hearing officers when a claimant arrives for a hearing; etc.,” Atkins's nominator continued.

The nominator concluded with: “I cannot emphasize enough how her pleasant demeanor and friendliness have promoted a happy and warm environment in the Cincinnati office. Of course, Kimico is reliable and attentive to details, and her welcoming disposition has contributed to my transition to the IC.”

Atkins is a Customer Service Assistant 1 in the Cincinnati Regional Office. Her supervisor is Shelly Ahr. She started at the Ohio Industrial Commission in April 2023.

She was nominated by one of her coworkers and chosen for the award by the agency's Employee of the Month Committee. This is her first time receiving this award.
