Notice of Public Hearing

The Ohio Industrial Commission (OIC) will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., William Green Building, 30 West Spring Street, L-2, Room 1, Columbus, Ohio to consider the following:

The Amendments of the following rules:

  • 4121-2-01 Standards of practice for attorneys, agents and representatives of claimants or employers.
    The aforementioned rule is proposed for amendment to update the effective date of the Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct, and to update terminology in the code.

  • 4121-2-02 Suspension from practice.
    The aforementioned rule is proposed for amendment to clarify that the Commission’s actions in regards to suspension from practice are discretionary, not mandatory, as well as to clarify the protocol for commencing investigations.

  • 4121-3-12 Suspension of the processing of claims.
    The aforementioned rule is proposed for amendment to update terminology contained within the code.

  • 4121-15-01 Code of ethics, title and rules covering.
    The aforementioned rule is proposed for amendment to update terminology in the code.

  • 4121-15-03 Standards of conduct.
    The aforementioned rule is proposed for amendment to update terminology in the code.

  • 4121-15-09 Prohibition against unnecessary claim file access.
    The aforementioned rule is proposed for amendment to update terminology in the code.

In addition, the text of the proposed rules may be viewed by accessing the Industrial Commission’s website at www.ic.ohio.gov.

All interested parties will be given an opportunity to be heard. Any interested party unable to attend the public hearing may submit written comments via email to rulecomments@ic.ohio.gov prior to the hearing.
