Ohio Industrial Commission’s Cleveland Regional Office Renovation Complete

New location will offer better service and security

CLEVELAND, OH – The Ohio Industrial Commission (IC) announced today the opening of the new Cleveland Regional Office location on the fifth floor of the Frank Lausche Building located at 615 Superior Avenue NW. Cleveland, Ohio 44113.

“The Cleveland IC office conducts more than 27,000 workers’ compensation hearings per year; when the opportunity arose to move to a new and improved floor, it made sense to pursue it,” Chairman Tim Bainbridge said. “The new location will greatly enhance security while increasing agency efficiency, which means a better experience for our customers.”

Hearings will begin in the new location on May 19, 2015. The IC’s previous location was on the seventh floor of the Frank Lausche Building in Cleveland, Ohio. The new, completely-renovated location increases square footage available for public use by 5,900 square feet.

The new location also offers numerous benefits to IC customers:

  • Bigger hearing rooms and public lobby space with a larger seating area;
  • Additional workspace in the lobby for workers’ compensation attorneys and representatives;
  • Direct access to the emergency exits;
  • Enhanced lobby security with greater guard visibility; and
  • ADA-compliant restrooms on the same floor for the customers.

The IC will hold a grand opening ceremony on June 3, 2015 for Cleveland IC employees and representatives serving the region.

The IC conducts hearings on disputed workers’ compensation claims, determines violations of specific safety requirements, and determines if an injured worker is disabled due to a work-related injury or occupational disease.
